Pekin, passed away and entered eternal rest at 10:42 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at his Pekin home.Born Aug. 20, 1936, in Spring Lake Township, Tazewell County to Franklin Albert and Helen (Taylor) Golden Sr., he married N. Jean (Harness) Cunningham on July 17, 1982, in Pekin.Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Deborah (Jeff) Kaye of Excelsior, Minn.; one granddaughter, Autumn Kaye of Excelsior; four stepchildren, Todd Cunningham of Green Valley, Brian Cunningham of Pekin, Kim (Kendall) Courtright of Geneseo and Danette (Drew) Morgan of Coal Valley; six step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Roger Golden, Larry Dean Golden and Roy Golden; and two sisters, Nora Hilst and Judy Meyer.He grew up on a farm, where he learned all about things farming and working hard. He was a graduate of Forman High School, where he was active in sports, 4H and FFA. In 1954, he was presented the Illinois 4H Key Club award. He was one of two recipients of the 1955 4H Danforth Scholarship. In 1954, he also received the degree of FFA’s Illinois State Farmer. In 1956, he was awarded FFA’s First American Farmer, the highest degree bestowed nationally in the FFA organization. In 1956, Frank represented the rural farmers of Illinois at President Eisenhower’s safety conference in Washington, D.C., the first time a man under 21 years had represented the state. At Forman, he also was a member of the basketball team that beat Pekin High for the 1954 Regional Championship and also was a member of the baseball and track teams. He went on to earn two associate degrees from Illinois Central College, two bachelor’s degrees from Illinois State University and a Doctorate in Philosophy from Waldon University.Frank kept in shape by running the basketball court for 51 years, officiating games for the Illinois High School Association and also officiating baseball, football and softball. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at Generations of Riverview in East Peoria.She was born Sept. 26, 1960, in Pekin to Robert Wayne and Joan Darlene (Gosnell) Miller.Surviving are her mother, Joan Miller of Pekin; one sister, Penny Lynn Stout of Pekin; two nephews, Robert Wayne (Sharon) Miller III of DeKalb and Ronald Earl (Sarah) Stout Jr. of Lewistown; four great-nephews and nieces, Layney, Danni, Ronny III, and Max Andy; her former brother-in-law, Ronald Stout Sr. of Pekin; and many extended family members.She was preceded in death by her father on September 9, 1993, and one brother, Robert Wayne Miller Jr.Marsha worked at TCRC Newlun Center in Tremont for 15 years.Marsha was a huge movie buff and enjoyed listening to music and being on her computer.Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Jim Dawson will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodrow Cemetery in rural Pekin. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at his home.Born June 10, 1931, in Pekin to Cecil Delbert and Bernice Augusta (Wernowsky) Dickson, he married Barbara Ann Sullivan on July 16, 1955, in Springfield. She died April 1, 2015, in Manito. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Amanda Dickson; two half-sisters, Charlene Robinson and Bonnie Nash and half-brother, Flavel Clark.Surviving are three sons, Timothy (Vivian) Dickson of Surprise, Ariz., Tracy (Valerie) Dickson of Manito, and Matthew (Karla) Dickson of East Peoria; one daughter, Teresa (Ed) Davis of Pekin; ten grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, April (Shane) Benson, Andrew Dickson, Melissa Dickson, Kaylee Dickson, Alexandria Dickson, Matthew Dickson, Natalie Dickson, Bryan Dickson, and Adler Dickson; 13 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Delores (Fred) Kalhammer of Manito and Sandra (Richard) Hand of Peoria.He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War serving aboard the USS Palau.Weldon retired as Captain in 1986 from the Pekin Fire Department with 29 years of service. He was a member of Local 524 of the International Association of Firefighters.He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, served as an usher and funeral server. He also volunteered in the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry at the church. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Archbishop Schlarman Council #3507 in Pekin. He was a past warden, past chancellor, past inside guard and past outside guard with the Knight of Columbus.Weldon liked sports and was a fan of basketball, football and baseball. He was a devoted fan of the Chicago White Sox and a huge fan of the Pekin Chinks. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and travel, especially travelling to Arizona to see his oldest son.His funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
